The Bible states numerous times that God calls on good men and women to protect themselves and their loved ones - to be Guardians. To ignore this, is done at one's peril and the destruction of their communities.
The Good Samaritan saw another person made in God's image, and seeing them in need, the Samaritan took responsibility to ACT and perform care.
Wine was often used as antiseptic to reduce bacteria on wounds, and then oil was used to protect wounds and aid healing. Bandages were either spare fabrics on hand, or torn from an individual's clothing in the event of an emergency.
The Good Samaritan had the ability to transport someone that was unable to walk unassisted. Further, they were blessed with financial means to be a blessing to another person who required ongoing care.
